General Information

Services offered:

Health Insurance Information

  • Medical insurance coverage is highly recommended for all students and can be obtained with a company of the student's choice, through the parent's insurance company, or through the AETNA student health insurance offered through the MSU Benefits Office. However, insurance is not required in order to be seen at the Olin Student Health Center.
  • If your student will be using insurance through his/her parent's company, give your student a copy of your medical insurance card before arriving on campus, and encourage him/her to carry it.
  • Take a few moments to explain to your student how the insurance works. Does the student need to use a particular network of doctors? Is there a co-pay for prescription drug coverage? Review this type of information with your student.
  • Be sure your student knows the date of birth of the parent carrying the insurance.
